To celebrate NYC Honey Week 2015, Rockaway Brewing Co is hosting a honey-themed day at the brewery on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
Rockaway Brewing Co will release its Honey Fest Beer, a single batch made once a year with fresh honey. This year’s honey comes from a small farm in Massachusetts, and adds notes of delicate honey to the light and refreshing beer based on Rockaway’s Rocktoberfest ale recipe.
Local beekeeper and brewery regular Robert Deschak of Skyline Honey will sample and sell his NYC-made honey, and introduce guests to the honey-making process. The Cheese Guy will have an array of cheeses available to complement the beer and honey.
There will be a candle-making activity in the brewery’s upstairs event space, where the creative-minded can fill mason jars with soy wax and decorate their glass jars with mosaic tiles and paint for $5-$7 (depending on jar size).
